The best architects we work with start every project the same way: they watch the light. Where does the sun rise? Where does it set? How does the water reflect it?

Orientation first

A living room that faces the evening sun over the water will feel completely different from one that faces the morning sky. Small changes in angle change everything.

Light is a material too. It just costs nothing.

Materials that hold light

Pale stone, white concrete and light oak catch the light and soften it. That is why so many of our homes share the same calm palette.
